History
The St. Louis Professionals for Healthcare Quality (SPHQ),
formerly known as Metropolitan St. Louis Association for
Healthcare Quality (MSAHQ) was established in the late 1970’s.
Although the structure of the organization has changed over
the years, the focus remains the same. SPHQ strives to keep
quality professionals informed of current issues, to provide
educational experiences and to enhance networking opportunities.
In 2002, the Association for Quality Improvement
Professionals (AQUIP) dissolved and merged with MSAHQ. As
a result of this union, the organization changed their name
to St. Louis Professionals for Healthcare Quality (SPHQ).
Meetings
Meetings are held quarterly, generally on the
third Thursday of the second month of each quarter. Meetings
consist of association business, speaker(s) and time for
networking. Meetings are approximately 2 hours. CEU certificates
are available at each meeting to current paid members.
SPHQ sponsors a daylong conference annually.
Several speakers present on current issues. The topics vary
but coordinate to give the attendees a broad spectrum of
information.
Membership
Membership dues are $25.00 per calendar year,
or any portion thereof. Dues are not prorated. Officers must
be paid members, in good standing, for at least a year prior
to holding office. Nominations are accepted at the August
